$5184.88 raised for a teacher fighting cancer at the Princeton, NJ concert held by Rescue Music Foundation and Greater Princeton AYLUS!

Ms. Su Wei has been a teacher in Princeton, NJ for over 20 years until she found out on vacation in December 2018 that she had clear cell ovarian cancer. After going through surgery to remove the cyst, a new tumor grew back in place, and removing it again could be fatal. Despite not knowing how long she has left, Ms. Su Wei remains positive and lives each day to the fullest. She will donate her body to the medical field after she passes. Rescue Music Foundation (RMF) and Greater Princeton AYLUS wanted to hold a concert for this strong and inspirational teacher. We are very glad to say that in total $5184.88 was raised for Ms. Su Wei!
As well as the concert, members of RMF went out on the streets to ask for donations in support of Ms. Su Wei, as well as spread the word about the concert. You may have seen us at the front doors of 99 Ranch Market in Edison, NJ, or on the bustling roads of Princeton.
The concert was on 6/29/2019 in Princeton, NJ at Channing Hall. There was a plethora of piano solos, as well as violin and viola solos, cello duets, dances, singing, and more. At the end of the concert, Ms. Su Wei came onto the stage and sung a very heartwarming song (with the audience joining in).
Thank you to all the talented and hardworking musicians (along with their fabulous teachers) that gave such amazing performances for Ms. Su Wei and everyone at the concert! In addition, we would like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers and parents who allowed this concert to happen. We would like to especially thank Mr. Mingyi Liu, founder of RMF Charlie Liu’s father for his guidance along the way to help us make this event successful.
We would also like to give special thanks to the wonderful guest musicians who performed at the concert. Yingchao “YZ” Zhang, the current Council Vice President for West Windsor who loves to put on “one-man-band” performances at community events. Paul Manulik, Founder and director of the Princeton String Academy who also teaches, performs, and gives masterclasses. Hanbo Liu, a pianist, composer, and teacher with a new original piano album who is known as “the piano virtuoso” and a “Young Liszt with extraordinary piano ability”. Xia Li, a renowned soprano who has won numerous awards in many music competitions in China and now teaches, judges, and hosts them.
