Rescue Music Foundation’s Next Stop – Iowa!

The Rescue Music Foundation will fund part of the costs for 2 benefit solo concerts by Charlie Liu near end of August in Iowa City, where Charlie was born! The concerts will benefit two very deserving nonprofit organizations – Univ. of Iowa Children’s Hospital and The Preemie Project!

Charlie was born a preemie and had to stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital for nearly a month before being going home for the first time. He knows first hand the struggles and worries preemies and their families face. He’d like to give back to the hospital that helped him, and to the families that need help. Charlie’s first benefit solo recital at age 9 was in fact fundraising for UI Children’s! Charlie had long wanted to give a benefit concert in his birthplace Iowa, but it was hard to get everything worked out. This year he’s finally able to do it and we’re all super excited!

Charlie’s first concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City on 8/26 at 7 pm. They very kindly provided the venue free of charge due to this great cause, thank you so much! This concert would feature many of the most popular and beautiful classical pieces, along with a great introduction to some of the more serious and exciting classical pieces such as the Chopin and Beethoven Sonatas. More details can be found on Charlie’s site.

The second concert will be at the Coralville Center for Performance Arts on 8/27 at 2 pm. They also kindly provided a discount for the great cause (thanks much as well!) and with a beautiful venue, a fantastic concert grand, and a top notch concert program focusing on serious, diverse and challenging classical pieces, it will be a wonderful concert and a great treat for classical music lovers in Iowa! Please help us spread the word and we hope to raise as much as possible for the great causes! Ticket is on sale right now! More info on Charlie’s site.
